Peter Bergman has been invited to appear at The International Laugh! Festival in Auckland, New Zealand. He'll be one of the 60 bizarre, boisterous and bent scheduled. Bergman will be performing his one man show May 1 - 4 at the Civic.

Peter is listed as one of the top 10 acts in the 3/30/02 issue of The New Zealand Herald, though slightly mis-reported: "American Peter Bergman used to teach economics at Yale University and describes himself as a high-tech comedian making humourous CD-Roms. The Grammy winner (this year for The Bride of Firesign) hosts a weekly programme on American radio and performs a one-man show at the Civic May 1-4."

Spike Milligan Remembered

Noah Adams talks with Peter Bergman of Firesign Theater about
British actor and comic Spike Milligan, who died today at his home
at age 83. Bergman lived and worked in Europe before founding
Firesign. He worked with Milligan during that time. Milligan was an
influence on countless artists and groups, including the British
satirical groups Beyond the Fringe and Monty Python. Go to: NPR

From USA Today © (2/18/02):

"Guy came up to me at Costco yesterday and says, 'You're one of the Bozos aren't you?' " says member Peter Bergman, 62, referring to a Firesign alias featured on the 1971 album I Think We're All Bozos on This Bus. "He says, 'I want you to know that you thoroughly warped my childhood.'

"That," Bergman adds, "is the most common comment I get."
