Niles Ritter writes:
I read in a technical book (sorry, can't remember which) that 'Eat Or Be Eaten' was the first CD+G disc published in the US. [actually, this was some time ago, and the book said that it was the *only* CD+G disc published in the US] So I popped it in a CDTV box, and sure enough... The screen gets refreshed every 2-3 seconds, and it does add a dimension to the fun.

David Ossman:

  • 1973 - How Time Flys: Columbia C 32411

From Don Leighty:
David Ossman's recent output, the cassettes -

  • 1. Another Christmas Carol/Radiodaze
  • 2. Mexican Overdrive/Radiodaze (different version)
  • 3. David Ossman's Time Capsule
  • 4. George Tirebiter's Radio Follies
  • 5. Best of Midwest Radio Theater Live (various contributions)

These highlight David's work in contemporary radio theater - a genre that probably wouldn't exist today except for the Firesign Theater. They also contain readings of some of David's "found poems", which I've also enjoyed (though I've missed most of the published collections from Turkey Press, etc.)

Many of the radio plays have as their theme a gentle, somewhat noir-ish look back at the early days of Hollywood, and of radio's Golden Age. I think they fit nicely into the overall Firesign canon.

Subgroup Albums (Pete Bergman, Phil Proctor, Phil Austin):

  • 1984 - The Three Faces of Al (Rhino)
