THE FIRESIGN THEATRE

"THE BIG SUITCASE OF 1969" (MP) - The group wrote a screenplay to be made with their good friend, film maker, producer Jerry "Dr. Franklin D. Wacco" Bryan, as a $200,000 feature length 35 mm movie under The Good Luk Chinese Film Co. in part B&W, and color using a Technicolor Tri Pack camera with an 8 track stereo soundtrack, with shooting to begin 4/1. The script utilized portions already written for "Eat", and also their stage piece "The Count Of Monte Cristo", an early version of "Anythynge You Want To" ("Shakespeare's Lost Comedie") and "The Fuse Of Doom". Columbia was interested in releasing an album version. The project folded with the accidental drowning death of Jerry Bryan in Hawaii.

"THE MARTIAN SPACE PARTY" (LRB) (M) - The group's performance was shot by Steve Gilmor as a 'psuedo-documentary' concert 3 camera 35mm film, during a 90 minute live radio broadcast, with a studio audience at Strange Hall, North Hollywood, from LA's KPFK as the series finale of the "Let's Eat" radio show, with added footage. CBS engineers recorded the show in a mobile truck on 16 track tape. Parts of the original broadcast and soundtrack were later used on the "Not Insane" album. Re-released as a segment in the film "Firesign Funnies", and as a video tape in 1995 by More Sugar. Color 30 min.

Proctor remembers providing a voice but may not have made the final edit.
