Firezine News
FALL 1999

TEAM PLAYERS: Firezine forges ahead against all odds to bring you the news, info and articles by and about the Firesign Theatre. Not willing to rest on our laurels, they were cut down and shredded for pulp for the mag, the Freditor and his intrepid staff have vowed to continue on. More attention has been given to upgrading and maintaining the Firezine web site www.firezine.net. All our efforts really came into focus surrounding Firesign's Spring Tour, making sure that our subscribers were kept up to date and directed toward venues and ticket availability. Special seating and merchandise was provided at the performances by the guys with up-front and personal Firezone seats. The Freditor gathered all his forces in Seattle to make sure that the event was documented as well as possible. Ass. editor Chris Palladino from Hagerstown, MD covered rehearsals and some writing sessions with his portable reel to reel and shot still camera photos during all shows. Brian Westley from St Paul, MN brought along his digital mini-cam, fresh from FT's San Francisco gigs and sat in the audience video taping for 2 nights. Flushing NY's favorite son, Alan Gross 8 millimetered backstage and down in front. Tom O'Neill from Bridgeport, CT DAT recorded Sunday night's show and helped coordinate activities. Cat Simril came down from Vancouver, CA with his DAT recorder and hard cider to focus his observances, while Lew Tebbetts from Bonney Lake, WA acted as guide and interpreter. Martian Fred Wiebel abused his video camcorder, still cameras and cassette deck to capture the magic moments. The camaraderie was high and greatly appreciated by the 4 or 5, well at least 3 or 4, or 2 or 1, depending on the situation. Many meetings were held over breakfasts, lunches, dinners and late night soirees over the weekend. The team was set, jobs assigned and friends made with the general consensus being to provide an unbuyable service to the guys and fans. Firezine's approach is to gather all info we can from whoever, wherever, by whatever means we can get it and use as much of it as possible. We want you, our subscribers and FT fans to be the 5th Krazy guy when the opportunity arises. So keep those decks rolling, photos snapping, reviews coming.
